Dear Gala Guests,
Thanks to you, it all came to together for City House at the 2015 Blue Moon Gala on September 19th.
Newcomers to our mission — Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group, Park Place Lexus, Dr. Erwin and Irene Tang and family, the Grays, the Silvestris, Sam Pack, Frisco Travel, and so many other individuals and companies — made unexpected contributions that quite frankly put us over the moon.
Gary and Carolyn, your gift is a game changer! Ever since you found us, your gifts has enabled us to sustain many of our initiatives that impact so many children.
Roy & Susie Barber, — year after year you attend with giving hearts, and this time you simply hit it out of the ballpark, as did Walt and Joyce Hill. Thank you to our board president Marilee Cumming and her husband Drew, for introducing these generous friends to our mission.
The Vitorinos, Cernickys, McGahas, Renfros, Hills, Castles, Fegos, Robertsons, Muzzarellis, Mitch and Liz Johnson, the Hirschs, Briganteses, Carol Johnson, the Kazmaiers, Munses, Farishs, Malises, Weymers, Hansens, Ed Fanning, Rick and JoEllen Link, Mark and Rebecca Davis, Mike and Angela Barber, and so many others, jaw dropping support.
Thank you to our board members, and the nearly 800 attendees not mentioned by name in this letter for your generous donations and lively bidding that brought us so close to meeting our goal.
Rudy and Christina Andrea, our 2015 Invisible Thread Award recipients — so many improvements for our children at My Friend’s House are attributed to your funding. It just goes without saying that City House and so many other child welfare organizations benefit greatly from the generous philanthropy of your Andrea-Mennen Family Foundation.
AdvoCare, what can we say? You helped us with an A/C emergency during the summer. Your Platinum gala sponsorship and level of giving by your leadership gave us the much needed hope that our goal might be reached. Please know we are beside ourselves with gratitude.
Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group, you amazed everyone with what you brought to the “table” for our Live Auction; although that shouldn’t surprise any of us! You cannot even imagine how the proceeds from your offerings will positively impact at-risk young lives in our care.
John Kobell, GM of Classic BMW of Plano, thank you for the continued support even though you personally couldn’t attend, and for “plussing” up our Texas wine country tour item with the addition of the beautiful 2016 BMW X5.
Same to you Rusty Gentry, GM of Toyota of Plano; What is so amazing and wonderful is that it did not stop either of you from committing sponsorship dollars from your dealerships to help our kids and young adults. Gentlemen, you are both class acts who totally get the importance of supporting the under-served in our community. For this we all thank you.
Steve Lee, of Crest Cadillac, thank you so much for the weekend lease donation on your magnificent 2016 CTS-V, it made our Big-D-Weekend-Out bidding exceed our wildest expectations.
To our other key sponsors: Denbury, InTouch Credit Union, Fossil, WorldLink, JP & Associates Realtors, Frost Bank, Pizza Hut, Medical Center of Plano, Legacy Bank, Jan Richey, Preferred Imaging, Blue Cross Blue Shield/Benefits Mall, BKM Sowan Horan, LLP, Koons Fuller Family Law, Hard Rock Landscaping, Strasburger Attorneys at Law, Texas Health Presbyterian, Cowles & Thompson PC, Pier 1, Mike Mox-Remax, Texas Land & Cattle, Starbucks, Raising Cane’s, and a special thanks to Rene Sinclair for inviting so many wonderful attendees — without your support there would be no gala.
There is nothing more comforting on the night of our biggest annual fundraiser than to have City House founders Nancy Boyd and Kay Goodman in the audience, along with the familiar faces of so many longtime supporters.
Whether through monetary donations or through volunteerism, you have all helped create and continue to sustain the very foundation of this agency. As a stand-alone community-based nonprofit it will always be a struggle for City House to raise major funds, as we are not an affiliate of a national organization. We are the only agency doing what we do in Collin County, yet try as we might we cannot compete with the bigger nonprofits for share of corporate funds, and government grants are hardly predictable for any agency serving at-risk youth.
Our annual gala is the only fundraising opportunity we have to bring the greatest number of supporters together-under-one-roof. It’s also a way for us to say thank you and provide everybody with “just not another gala” but with an extraordinary experience and a memorable night out that leaves you excited about the next one.
Most importantly, when you attend our event you have enabled City House to exist, and by doing so, you own a piece of the mission to Protect Youth, Empower Change and Transform Lives.
We are always humbled by your generosity. It will serve so many.
From all of us at City House
