It’s the last weekend in August and surely you might want to do some shopping if you’re spending the holiday weekend in North Texas. Well, if that’s you, then City House would like to ask for your help!
City House enters the final weekend of a promotion at the Shops at Willow Bend in third place out of 10 great charities, but in a tight race among those organizations currently ranked in the top-4 of the list. The top-three point-getters in this promotion will get $5,000, $3,000 or $2,000, respectively, as a donation.
So please help City House claim one of these donation prizes, which will go directly to help the kids we serve in Collin County! Shop at Willow Bend this weekend and don’t forget to register your receipts with the concierge desk before you leave!
The Promotion: The Shops at Willow Bend is hosting for the third year “Willow Bend Gives Back” during the month of August. Willow Bend Gives Back is a program that helps bring the shopping center and customers together to give back to the community. Shoppers will earn money for one of the preselected charities, including City House, simply by registering their receipts at the Concierge Center or registration table at Grand Court. Every dollar spent in August is a point earned for the charity. At the end of the month, the charities with the most points will receive a donation of $5,000, $3,000 or $2,000 from The Shops at Willow Bend.
Neiman Marcus partners with The Shops at Willow Bend to honor women that are nominated by each of the preselected charities from Willow Bend Gives Back that have gone above and beyond to serve their charity. These “Top Women of Collin County” will be recognized throughout the month of August by special events hosted by Neiman Marcus and a private Fall Fashion Show on September 11, 2014. The Shops at Willow Bend will announce the top three charities that collected the most points during the month of August from Willow Bend Gives Back at the Fall Fashion Show.
City House is proud and honored to be represented by Terri Macaluso. She has been a community leader in Collin County for more than 23 years. Since 1990, Terri and her boys provided meals monthly to the Samaritan Inn in McKinney and she volunteered for the Children’s Advocacy Center Board, serving as secretary and having a grant approved to help it keep going, long-term. Terri’s giving heart wasn’t restricted to the county, as she helped develop a food truck system called the HUGS Truck, which collected canned food and clothing from Collin County residents and drove them down to needy areas of Dallas. She joined Ebby Halliday Realtors in Frisco in 2005 and continued her philanthropic efforts within the company, as the office started a golf tournament to benefit the United Way. In 2012, Terri got involved with The Giving Tree and learned about the hidden homeless youth situation in Frisco and Collin County. Her agents and she quickly decided that the golf proceeds in 2013 would go towards City House, raising $46,000. The Ebby Frisco Charity Golf Tournament is back this October 23, and this year’s goal is $75,000 to benefit City House’s efforts to combat youth homelessness.
“We are so honored to have Terri Macaluso represent City House as one of the Top Women of Collin County, and we’re very appreciative of The Shops at Willow Bend for including us as part of Willow Bend Gives Back,” said City House Executive Director Teresa Keenan. “We encourage all friends of City House to shop at Willow Bend this month, and be sure to register your receipt at the concierge center before you leave so your purchases go towards our points! Thanks to everyone for your support.”
